1.) Single Beep During Startup
Make sure that the floppy diskette and CD-ROM drive is not installed. If the error is "Non-system disk", check whether the problem is solved.
For a "Non-system disk" error, go to Troubleshooting IDE hard disk drive issues. This will fix the problem by loading default settings in the System Configuration Utility.
The boot sequence for the System Configuration Utility should be Diskette drive, CD-ROM, followed by Hard disk drive.
2.) Multiple Beeps During Startup
Disconnect and reconnect all the internal components, including adapters, power connectors, cables and memory.
Perform a clear CMOS procedure. You can either refer to the Hardware Maintenance Manual for directions or else test the system to see if the problem is corrected.
A boot recovery can help in the meanwhile.
Also ensure that the processor appears properly connected to its socket. In case the modern processors get too hot and must be cooled properly.
3.) No Beeps Are Heard During Startup
Go the System Configuration Utility and select Start Options.
Shift the button from Power-On Self-Test to Enhanced.
Save the settings and exit.
